Regional Networks are a GlobalSkin program in which members may come together to pursue common goals on a regional basis and support in achieving GlobalSkin's strategic plan.
Their purpose is:
- Strengthen GlobalSkin’s membership to have greater regional equity and inclusiveness and empowerment
- Support regional advocacy which elevates GlobalSkin’s strategic plan activities related to advocacy (e.g, WHA resolution)
- Promote regional empowerment
GlobalSkin financially assists Regional Networks in the planning and implementation of patient-led initiatives and projects that benefit all members within their regions. This work is led by the Regional Working Groups.
The Project Plan must be submitted by the Chair(s) or designated representative of the Working Group.
A Final Report must be sent to GlobalSkin by December 15th of the year for which the application was approved.

In 2026, Regional Networks will receive 5000 - 7000 CAD for approved activities.
Projects can fall into these four categories:
- Advocacy Training & Resources: Examples of projects in this category include online training for all members of the region to develop patient leader advocacy skills on how to effectively lobby, interact with Industry, Policy Makers, Health Care Providers, and other key stakeholder groups.
- Awareness Materials: Examples of projects in this category include developing communications and marketing materials for regional advocacy and awareness campaigns. This can include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., or traditional media advertising, graphic design, videos, and printed materials such as flyers or brochures, or content creation for region specific awareness projects.
- Online Events: Examples of projects in this category include inviting advocacy and policy experts to present virtually on certain topics relevant to all Members in the region.
- Research and Publishing: Examples of projects in this category include gathering resources for an initial landscape analysis of the unmet needs of skin patients in the region.
The examples mentioned above are not an exhaustive list but are meant as ideas.

Please note the following terms and conditions which must be met for funds to be disbursed:
- Network Project Plans must tangibly benefit all Members of the Regional Network
- A Letter of Project Agreement must be signed with GlobalSkin
Funds will be the responsibility of the Working Group Treasurer, and will be disbursed prior to the start of the project.
Exclusions:
- Funds may not be used to cover costs of travel for individuals
- Funds may not be used for projects related to the Impact Fund, World Atopic Eczema Day or Rare Disease Day (as there is already a separate fund for these initiatives)
- Funds may not be used for the benefit of only one member organization
